I. Who is eligible to apply for the Baldwin LightStream scholarship:

  • Graduating Senior of Baldwin-Woodville High School, St. Croix Central High School, River Falls High School, Hudson High School
  • The applicant must be pursuing a career in a technology field
  • The applicant must be accepted into their program of study in 2 year vocational program or 4 year bachelor program by the date of the application
  • The scholarship is to be used within the coming school year
  • Scholarship applicants must be well-rounded, bright students who not only excel academically, but are also actively involved in their school and community

II. Application

Title page of application must include the following information:

  • Name
  • Name and location of collage/tech school you plan to attend
  • Whether or not you have been accepted
  • When you will start your schooling
  • Field of study
  • Desired occupation

Applicants must answer the following questions:

What school activities have you been involved in:

  • Write about special awards or roles
  • Indicate all activities (clubs/sports) you have been involved in during grades 9 – 12

What activities have you been involved in outside of school:

  • Write about special awards or roles
  • Write about involvement in 4-H, church youth groups, or other volunteer activities in your community

Why are you deserving of this scholarship:

  • Write about special talents, financial need, etc.

What important facts should the committee consider in regards to you and the financing of your education:

  • Are you going to be paying your own tuition costs
  • Does your family have special circumstances

Explain how you have been a positive influence in the classroom:

  • Have you received decent grades?
  • Are you a role model? Explain
  • Have you gained the respect of your teachers? Explain

III. Application Deadline

  • Applications must be completed and submitted by the due date determined by the scholarship committee

IV. Selection and Presentation

  • One scholarship award to be given annually in each school district
  • Scholarship amount is $1,000
  • The recipient to be chosen by the Scholarship Committee at each school district

The scholarship will be presented at Awards Program by a representative of the school district or Baldwin LightStream. Payment will be made when the recipient shows proof of completion of first semester of study.
